ACS NSQIP.org

This site, www.acsnsqip.org, was designed and developed by QCMetrix to allow private-sector medical centers (with vastly different IT systems and infrastructure) to enter their surgical data in one consistent interface. The ACS NSQIP Web application provides a secure interface used for data collection, case management and report generation—and minimizes the impact on any center’s IT staff. QCMetrix maintains and is continually enhancing the ACS NSQIP.org site.

FUNCTIONS

Surgical Clinical Nurse Reviewers utilize the ACS NSQIP.org site for a number of critical job functions:

• Entering the 152 preoperative, intra-operative and postoperative variables for each qualified surgical case.
• Looking up individual patient records by encrypted IDN or case number.
• Monitoring case status by:
  • Number of transmitted cases
  • Number of incomplete cases < 30 days
  • Number of incomplete cases 31-60 days
  • Number of incomplete cases > 60 days

• Viewing ten different reports that present that medical center’s up-to-date performance data benchmarked against the aggregate, blinded results of the other participating centers.
• Learning about updates and new developments through sharing of best practices, case studies, IRR tests and more.
• Downloading job-specific forms and documents.
• Staying informed of upcoming phone and training conferences.
• Accessing valuable professional resources, such as related websites, manuals and online texts.
